About Danielle Fichera
Danielle Fichera is a New York–based designer whose work is rooted in a lifelong fascination with beauty, craftsmanship, and the way clothing becomes intertwined with a woman’s life.
Raised between New Jersey and New York City, Danielle grew up with an innate curiosity about the world around her and an appreciation for beautiful things—not simply fashion, but art, architecture, interiors, gardens, flowers, books, travel, and the details of a thoughtfully lived life. New York became an education in itself, shaping both her eye and the particular mix of sophistication and ease that would eventually define her work.
Danielle holds a Master’s degree in Media Studies from The New School and continued her studies at Parsons School of Design, where she received a certification in interior design. Her multidisciplinary education shaped the way she approaches fashion—not simply as clothing, but as a form of visual storytelling and cultural expression. She was later selected as a finalist for the Fashion Institute of Technology’s Design Entrepreneurs program, an initiative recognizing emerging fashion businesses and their founders.
In 2017, she founded her namesake collection, Danielle Fichera.
The collection has always been deeply personal. Danielle designs from the things she loves and the way she herself wants to live: surrounded by flowers, books and beautiful interiors; traveling whenever possible; spending summers near the water; discovering a remarkable textile or a tiny shop somewhere unexpected; walking through New York and continually noticing something new.
The women in Danielle’s life have been equally influential, particularly her mother, Valerie, whose sense of beauty, strength, femininity, and individuality left an indelible imprint on her. Their shared appreciation for clothing, interiors, travel, and beautiful objects reinforced something Danielle has long understood instinctively: the things we surround ourselves with can become vessels for memory. A dress is rarely just a dress. It can hold a summer, a place, a celebration, a person, or an entire period of one’s life.
That relationship between beauty and memory remains an undercurrent throughout Danielle’s work.
At the center of the brand is an enduring love of exceptional textiles. Danielle is particularly drawn to the character of Italian fabrics and to beauty found in the smallest details: dimensional fil coupés, delicate florals, tactile surfaces, unusual buttons, and materials that reveal themselves more fully upon closer inspection. Her collections are produced in New York, bringing together European textiles and the tradition of local craftsmanship.
Her background in interiors continues to influence the way she designs. She thinks about proportion, texture, color, negative space, and juxtaposition much as one might consider a room. She is drawn to the tension between structure and softness, simplicity and romance, permanence and ease. The result is clothing that feels feminine and distinctive while remaining remarkably uncomplicated to wear.
Her work has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, ELLE, WWD, Town & Country, InStyle, Brides, NBC’s Open House, HELLO! Magazine, The Daily Front Row, Modern Luxury, Hamptons Magazine, Homeworthy, Habitually Chic, and more.
